Welcome to the San Diego Section!
In August, the Escondido Community Emergency Response Team and the San Diego Section's Amateur Radio Emergency Services Group, Inc, partnered for a fairly successful Get-On-The-Air Seminar.
The San Diego Section would like to see these on a regular basis, but needs your help to make it happen.
Typical subjects to be covered are: 1) Basic radio connections to operate in the Field, 2) Basic Radio Functions, 3) How to get the most out of your hand held transceiver, 4) What to Buy (and why), 5) Programming the Radio, and 6) How to talk on the radio. Many more topics could be covered if we had volunteers to teach or lead discussions.
If you are interested in earning your Entry Level Amateur Radio License, Please e-mail me at ad6vi@arrl.org.
If you are already licensed, please join our Amateur Radio Emergency Services (ARES) Program, which meets the 2nd Saturday of each month (September 13th) at Scripps Memorial Hospital Campus, Schaetzel Building, Nobel Room at 8:00 AM 9890 Genesee Ave La Jolla, CA 92037. Scheduled program is the Raffle and HIPAA Training
Park in first lot to the right after the guard shack. Parking is $2.00. Antenna Friendly.
