Bob Inderbitzen is Marketing Manager of the American Radio Relay League (ARRL), the national association for Amateur Radio. He is responsible for planning and implementing direct marketing initiatives for ARRL membership, publication sales and advertising. Inderbitzen regularly attends ARRL's national conventions and the Dayton Hamvention® as part of the team that organizes and operates ARRL exhibits. He enjoys speaking with volunteers about membership recruitment and associated support services.
Inderbitzen was first licensed in 1981 as KA2PZD. He was in the sixth grade. He became NQ1R when he upgraded to Amateur Extra in 1989.
His interests in ham radio include HF operating and contesting. He is an ARRL Life Member, and a member of ARRL's "10-Year Club," for employees with at least 10 years of service at the League.
Inderbitzen joined the League in 1991, serving the Volunteer Examiner Coordinator Department as Assistant to the Manager. In 1993, he became Assistant to the Manager in the Educational Activities Department. There, he helped maintain the large array of services offered to Amateur Radio newcomers, instructors, schoolteachers and recruiters.
He attended Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Worcester, Massachusetts, and holds a B.S. degree in Management and Organization from Central Connecticut State University.
Inderbitzen lives in Rocky Hill, Connecticut, with husband Michael Bower and daughter Victoria.
Outside of ham radio, Inderbitzen and his family are active members in the local Congregational Church, and enjoy vacations to Cape Cod, Massachusetts. They have a cockatiel named "Sonny" and a beagle named "Gina."
