Replacement for Obsolete MM5369 IC

The scope controller on page 7-6 of AC Power Interference Handbook

By Marv Loftness, KB7KK uses a MM 5369 time base generator chip to give him a stable 60Hz external sync signal for the scope. Unfortunately, that chip is now obsolete.

Below are two possible options for a different chip or a different schematic to furnish a stable 60Hz oscillator sync signal:

Option 1

This circuit generates both 60Hz and 1Hz from a common 3.58MHz NTSC TV crystal. A synchronizing input is also provided for locking the output to a 60Hz line frequency signal if available (recommended for long-term stability). Switching between sync-lock and free-running is automatic. Handy for battery-backed clock circuits.
