ARRL Amateur Radio Emergency Communications Course (ARECC)
Mentor, Field Instructor and Field Examiner Requirements
Field Instructors (CI)
- Must be 18 years of age with Technician or higher license.
- Have current Field Instructor (CI) application on file.
- Successful completion of level of ARRL ARECC you will teach.
- Must hold current ARRL membership.

Mentors (CM)
- Must meet all requirements for Field Instructor (CI) plus the following.
- Successfully complete the online ARECC Level 3 course or the technical courses you wish to mentor.
- Complete Mentor training.
- Possess sufficient computer skills and Internet savvy to interact with online course students and other mentors.
- Maintain adequate computer equipment.

Field Examiner (CE)
- General or above amateur radio license.
- Must be currently accredited as an ARRL Volunteer Examiner (VE).
- Have current Field Examiner (CE) application on file.
- Know and be willing to follow the rules for administering ARECC Field Exams.
