SDRWG Update
July 2004

SDR-1000 project:

FlexRadio's first year has been highly successful with 450 Software Defined Transceivers now in the field. The open source nature of the software has attracted amateurs from all over the world to contribute to its ongoing development. Major contributors include:

We are in the process of moving the code platform to C#.NET with major DSP contributions from N4HY and AB2KT. The new code incorporates the full multithreading capabilities of .NET, 24-bit ASIO support, enhanced noise reduction and blanking, and many other new features. The same DSP code will also be used on a Linux version being developed in parallel. In addition to the software enhancements, a new RF front end board has been added to the SDR-1000 that provides 90dB IMD3 dynamic range with a -141 MDS in 500Hz using 16-bit sound cards.

Gerald Youngblood, AC5OG

In addition, the SDRWG put together a study for Paul Rinaldo on FCC's SDR NPRM. Major portions of it made their way into ARRL's reply comments to FCC.

Doug Smith, KF6DX
